We are delighted to announce the release of COMPASS v2.1 for the product line of telematic modules: AUTHOR COMPASS, AUTHOR TELE COMPASS 2, and AUTHOR TELE COMPASS 2 4G.
This update is aimed to improve localization and introduce optimization and bug fixes.
Enhancements:
- Improved localization in eight languages (English, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Greek, and Japanese).
- Localized settings of AUTHOR Config Tool designed to configure AUTHOR TELE COMPASS 2 and AUTHOR TELE COMPASS 2 4G via USB and using a PC.
- Localized responses to SMS commands (including into Japanese).
The update is available already.
To update the firmware, follow these steps:
1. Send the SMS command: [password] fwupdate.
2. Four SMS messages will follow:
2.1 FW UPDATE Download OK, start flashing...
2.2 FW UPDATE OK v.[old firmware version] -> v. [new firmware version] (new)
2.3 Updating audio files…
2.4 Audio files updated
3. The firmware will finally be updated upon receipt of the fourth SMS message.
If an error occurs, repeat the firmware update process. If the latest firmware is already installed, a reply message saying, "No firmware updates are available" will follow.
