AUTHOR CANPROG USB (hereinafter referred to as the programmer) helps you update firmware and configure AUTHOR devices via the CAN bus by using a PC. The programmer communicates with the PC via microUSB.
You can connect the programmer to the device being configured in two ways:

- Direct connection. You connect the CAN bus and power supply wires of the device to relevant outputs of the programmer. The device is a perfect aid for updating and configuring a device that is not installed in your car yet.
- Connection via the CAN bus. You connect the programmer to the car's CAN bus to which the device is connected. The device is a perfect aid for updating and configuring a device that is installed in your car already.
