New «AUTOSTART» features – remote engine start for VAG

Winter has come, and in anticipation of the cold weather, we’d like to share some news with you that will surely be welcomed not only by car owners but also by installers of additional equipment.

It is no secret that VAG's regular key coding algorithms are one of the most complex ones. That is why the realization of the remote engine start function in vehicles of this concern requires the use of expensive equipment or the placement of a regular key in the vehicle interior, which reduces the protection of a car against theft.

The AUTHOR engineers had done a lot of work and as a result, the company's server has received support for the VAG keys calculation. It is now possible to install the AUTOSTART system in several vehicles without using the additional crawler, with the regular car key placed in it. This will not only significantly simplify the installation process and increase protection against theft, but will also reduce costs when purchasing an insurance policy.

All you need to do is connect AUTOSTART to the CAN bus, perform the key reading procedure, and use the Author Flasher utility to get an electronic key that controls the standard protection.

The current list of supported VAG vehicles on which the remote engine start technology has already been implemented looks like this:
  • Volkswagen Polo VI 2020-2020;
  • Volkswagen Jetta VII 2019-2020;
  • Skoda Rapid II 2020-2020;
  • Skoda Octavia III (Rest.1) 2017-2020.

Vehicles that support the remote engine start using a key crawler (the regular key placement in a car is required):
  • Volkswagen Jetta VII 2019-2020;
  • Volkswagen Polo VI 2020-2020;
  • Skoda Rapid II 2020-2020;
  • Skoda Octavia III (Rest.1) 2017-2020;
  • Volkswagen Passat (Rest. 1) 2020-2020;
  • Volkswagen Tiguan II 2020-2020;
  • Volkswagen Touareg III 2018-2020;
