We are delighted to introduce new IGLA products.
The new product line includes two upgrades:
- IGLA M — a 1CAN digital immobilizer
- IGLA BASE — a 2CAN1LIN digital alarm and immobilizer.
IGLA M and IGLA BASE — what's new and how do they differ from other IGLA models?
The new devices are based on the well-established IGLA and IGLA Alarm models. They are the first ones not equipped with any Bluetooth module and they allow to update firmware directly via the CAN bus.
Thanks to this, we managed to make the devices not only more user-friendly but also about half smaller than previous models.
Small size matters a lot
IGLA M and IGLA BASE are the smallest digital anti-theft devices on the market.
The absence of a radio module coupled with ultra-small dimensions — this enables you to install new devices even in places where no other anti-theft devices can be installed in the car.
Besides, just as earlier models do, new devices support the same pool of cars, connection methods, and all anti-theft and comfort features.
IGLA M (1CAN)
Immobilizer features:
- Authorization via a PIN code entered with standard buttons
- Multi-level blocking via the CAN bus (for engine blocking, against key reprogramming or automatic transmission shifting)
- Indication via standard symbols on the dashboard
- An output for connecting of an optional blocking relay
- Possible to connect optional protection modules — CONTOUR and TOR
- Possible to interact with the COMPASS GSM module
- Possible to interact with AUTOSTART and KEYLESS BLOCK
- More comfort features (closing of windows and sunroof, folding of mirrors, disabling of the Start-Stop system)
- Firmware updated via the CAN bus by using CANPROG
IGLA BASE (2CAN1LIN)
Immobilizer features:
- Authorization via a PIN code entered with standard buttons
- Multi-level blocking via CAN and LIN buses (for engine blocking, against key reprogramming or automatic transmission shifting)
- Indication via standard symbols on the dashboard
- An output for connecting of an optional blocking relay
- Perimeter protection (doors, hood, trunk, and ignition lock)
- Perimeter protection armed or disarmed via the standard key
- Possible to connect optional protection modules — CONTOUR and TOR
- Possible to interact with the COMPASS GSM module
- Possible to interact with AUTOSTART and KEYLESS BLOCK
- More comfort features (closing of windows and sunroof, folding of mirrors, disabling of the Start-Stop system)
- Firmware updated via the CAN bus by using CANPROG
- The AR20 analog relay included in the complete set.
CANPROG USB programmer
Typically, AUTHOR products use a wireless firmware update method (via Bluetooth). However, since the Bluetooth module is not used in IGLA M or IGLA BASE, we developed a special programmer, CANPROG USB, for these device models.
CANPROG USB helps you update firmware and configure AUTHOR devices via the CAN bus by using your PC.
You can connect the programmer to IGLA M or IGLA BASE in two ways:
- Direct connection — the CAN bus and device power wires are connected to the programmer directly. This method is optimal for setting up a device that has not been installed in your car yet.
- Connecting to the device via the car's CAN bus — the programmer is connected to the car's CAN bus to which the device is already connected. This method is optimal for setting up a device that has already been installed in your car.
No driver is required to make the programmer interact with a PC operated by Windows 10 or 11. For earlier OS versions, you can download the driver from our service portal.
The process for installing and configuring the firmware for IGLA M/BASE is simple and almost the same as the usual one performed via Bluetooth.
To update the firmware via CANPROG USB, follow these steps:
- Connect CANPROG USB to PC via a microUSB - USB-A cable (included in the complete set).Launch Author Flasher.
- In the navigation bar, select the CAN interface.
- In the list of available devices, select a relevant one and click Connect.
- Specify the path to the downloaded firmware.
- Launch the firmware update process by clicking Install.
- Customize options/features as needed and click Save.
